The challenges for an academic lab website are minimal, but the largest issues come in dealing with the dual challenges of hosting and a content management system. This server-side generated static site uses the google sheets api to populate dynamic content on the site which can be easily hosted in many contexts.
The highly performant mobile-friendly design is typeset entirely in Arial with minimal javascript intersection observers to allow reactive navigation. The site is built using next.js to allow for dynamic hosting, although it renders entirely in a single page and is currently deployed as a static site.
